Because you’ll be wasting your time and energy.
Because you’ll be wasting your time and energy.
18 yo, senior year. Went to the house where the mom stocked lots of junk food for the teens who hung out there (it was a party house, the sort where she looked the other way to keep us from getting arrested by being out and about).
Got super high. Microwaved some chicken wings. Took a couple bites before realizing that though they were breaded, they were not cooked. Went in the backyard and stuck my fingers down my throat. Was in fear of food poisoning but got lucky. Never breathed a word about it to my friends.
I had a bottle of hot saki at a restaurant that we walked to last month.
Try to work on learning how to communicate effectively. I used to say the wrong thing a lot. I thought I was being open and honest, but really, I just put my foot in my mouth.
There’s no guidebook to do this well. You just learn by wanting to do it better and time allowing you to learn from your mistakes.
I wish you the best!
And block the ones that are filled with content you don’t want. I’ve spent the last six months or so fine tuning my feed and see lots of stuff that’s interesting to me and very little that I don’t want.
Depending on your skillset, YCombinator has a who’s hiring thread on the first Monday of each month.
It’s really just deliberately using terms like “asshole” and “shithead” instead of bitch and such.
Fuck no. Though I have removed gendered swears from use.
Capitalism and the American dream.
I stopped using Google News because all it did was depress me. Lemmy and podcasts now.
Just say “fucking.” Or, if that’s unconscionable to you, “banging.”
Someone asked this a few days ago. Here’s my unfiltered CVS export. Pro-audio, Apple nerdery, geek news, blogs, etc. There are sites in here that have since retired, as pointed out by a user in that thread. I don’t get an error by them not publishing, so I haven’t bothered to remove them.

Wikipedia. Ballz game.
That’s a valid and useful thought.
Avoid news. Turn off internet. Literally, stop looking for like two weeks. The difference is palatable. I’ve used this technique a handful of times over the years.
A particle on an object.
Those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. Those who know history are doomed to know it’s repeating.
It’s the second part that makes this otherwise well know phrase hit much closer to home for me.
Woodworking?
