  • Both Buddhism and Taoism have some really good aspects. I would say they are philosophies and not religions and probably not in the context of a “faith” for this post. (If someone else wants to consider Buddhism a religion, you go right ahead. I won’t argue but assume I silently disagree.)

I am absolutely atheist, but still having some guiding principles is still important. If a concept sounds good and seems like it has good intentions I’ll just add it to my collection, discarding any pointless rituals or “magic”.

Doing good things makes me feel good and I like feeling good. I say that it’s ok borrow from any ideology that has well intentioned principles.

I’ll add the disclaimer that the term “good” is subjective and I still had to learn what “good” means to me over the years. Buddhism and Taoism have always been aligned with the way I perceive life and are decent enough to extrapolate what the word “good” should mean.

Am I dual faith? No. If we ever get in a deep discussion about core ideals, there are going to be similar concepts I share with many religions, though.

  • He does go a little over the top sometimes so his videos could be considered to be a bit overdramatic with a little sprinkle of rage bait.

However, I have rarely have disagreed with his views on consumer protection. Actually… I have never disagreed with his views on consumer protection.

Him getting viewers pissed off is not what I would consider healthy, but the rage might get some people to stop showing their bellies to large companies. Regardless, his videos do walk a fine line for me personally. He should be getting income from his videos, which is fine. If he ever cracks and starts getting people pissed off expressly for the purpose of income, I’ll drop his videos really quick.

  • Make note of the instances you are on. Communities with the same names can be radically different across instances.

Each instance may have their own collective view on what is right or wrong, good or bad. For example, I saw that you mentioned the “T” word (or was in a discussion about it) on .ml the other day and that is a recipe for an interesting discussion. You do what the heck you want, but each community will have their own special reaction.

I stumbled into lemmygrad a couple of years ago, somehow. It didn’t take but about 5 mins for me to be labeled a fascist baby killer.
