DuckDuckGo AKA Bing is complete dog doo. When you are looking for news it only tries to shove in the Microsoft MSN news page. The algorithm manipulation in favor of Western MSM bias is even heavier than Google. When you search certain terms it refuses to show articles containing those exact terms.

The fediverse needs to be plug and play. Blaming non techy users is a cop out.

Every instance has its ups and downs. Account age is of little value so I would say use your current account for a while and explore the different instances.

You can also make different accounts on different instances with the same username. That practice is totally normal.

Because .world is the biggest instance it tends to be the most Reddit like. Maybe try lemmy.sdf if you want a different more local experience.

Besides the server hosting location there appears to be very little Dutch about it.

For sure, but the intonation is very Spanish. Comparing it to other Latin languages it also appears to have most words based in Spanish or straight up ripped from Spanish.

Esparanto is not so much a new language as it is ripping words out of other languages. But most of it is Spanish.

What bothers me most is that it is not an efficient or easy language to learn for people who do not already speak a Latin langage. Might as well teach them English at that point.
