There’s nothing inherently illegal about the service or how it works which is why it isn’t outright banned. The illegal part is sharing copyrighted material over the service and I think you could get caught doing this just like someone using regular torrents without a VPN would be.
AirVPN is the other choice here that offers port forwarding still.
They also offer freeleech torrents that don’t count toward your DL ratio to help stimulate the “economy.”
That seems wrong to me as you’re just making archive.org a bigger target when you know it’s not something they can legally host (hence the VPN and anon email).
Yeah if it’s an entire eight season series in one torrent this probably won’t work as sonarr can’t do more than single episodes or single seasons. In this case, I think you’ll need to create a folder for each season manually in your target directory for your media library, copy the appropriate files to each one, navigate to the series in sonarr, click the “scan” button so it sees the new files, and then click the rename button if you wish.
I think you’ll need to have two copies in this case since sonarr won’t work for handlinks here but you can always delete the seeded copy later after you’ve seeded it for a while.
Edit: also if you try this again with other files in the future, instead of waiting for sonarr/radarr to see the file you manually added to your torrent client, you can hit the refresh button under the activity tab and it should pick it up right away.
Just manually add the torrent to your download client and then assign it to the sonarr category and let it do the rest for you.
Not really much advice other than being proactive about issues, but it is funny how concerned you quickly become with all types of water once you own a home. Rain intrusion, drainage in the yard, leaky pipes, dripping noises, frozen pipes, gutters, humidity, water heater, storms, etc, etc. It’s a real menace and so are squirrels (as I also found out after purchasing a home).
It’s to help prevent people from racing from stoplight to stoplight.
